Breaking Through the Testing and Monitoring Bottleneck

Session Date: Feb 27, 2020
Time: 10:00am (PT) | 6:00pm (GMT)

For developers, release engineering and quality assurance can be a big problem.

To help solve the problem, Sensu Inc., the open source multi-cloud monitoring tool provider, implemented a fully-automated test infrastructure for staging and end-to-end testing. To increase observability on the overall ecosystem, Nikki Cornell of Sensu started to research the intersection of monitoring and testing in the software delivery pipeline, and sought to implement existing tooling to further optimize the workflow.

Join this webinar where Nikki Cornell will share insights for breaking through bottlenecks, including:

  • How to implement efficiencies in QA and release processes with automated Serverspec tests
  • A brief overview of the Sensu event pipeline and architecture
  • Understanding of metric collection in Sensu with integrations for InfluxDB and Grafana (SIG stack)

Nikki Cornell

Software Engineer, Sensu

Nikki Cornell was an All-American college volleyball player and computer science research assistant. She started her career at tech giant Apple working on QA automation for the iOS and watchOS Performance teams. Seeking newer challenges in development, she entered the startup world as a Software Dev. Engineer at Sensu, Inc. where she has contributed to the Sensu Go product, improved DevOps infrastructure, and implemented new QA processes to aid in all around release efforts. Nikki is a work- from-home dog mom who plays beach volleyball in Hermosa when she's not stuck behind a computer debugging complex distributed systems problems.
